আগামী ৭ তারিখ বিশ্বকাপে বাংলাদেশের মিশন শুরু হবে। তার আগে আলোচনায়, বাংলাদেশ দলের শক্তি এবং দুর্বলতার জায়গা গুলো নিয়ে। ১৫ সদস্যের দলে রয়েছে বৈচিত্র্য। ব্যাটিং, বোলিং মিলিয়ে ভারসম্যপূর্ন একটি দলই, বিশ্বকাপের জন্য প্রস্তুত রয়েছে। দলটিতে যে রকম ভাল করার মত পর্যাপ্ত শক্তি আছে, তেমনি কিছু কিছু জায়গায় রয়েছে উন্নতি করার মত সুযোগ।

বিগত দুই বছর ধরে, বাংলাদেশের পেস বোলিং এটাক ভাল পারফর্ম করছে। অভিজ্ঞ মোস্তাফিজের সাথে পেস এটাকে থাকছেন, তাসকিন আহমেদ, হাসান মাহমুদ, শরীফুল ইসলাম ও তানজিম সাকিব। অ্যালান ডোনাল্ডের নেতৃত্বে, দুর্দান্ত লাইন লেন্থের পাশাপাশি রয়েছে গতি এবং সুইং। এশিয়া কাপে ভারতের মত দলকে ২৫৯ রানে আটকে দেয়ার পেছনে রয়েছিল পেস বোলারদের গুরুত্বপূর্ন অবদান।

এবারের ভারত বিশ্বকাপ, ফ্ল্যাট উইকেটে হতে পারে। ফলে, বোলিংয়ে মোস্তাফিজ কতটা কাজে দিবে, তা নিয়ে রয়েছে সংশয়। উইকেটের সহযোগিতা না পেলে, স্পিন এ্যাটাকও অকার্যকর হতে পারে বাংলাদেশের। সাকিব, মেহেদীরা নরমাল কন্ডিশনে বল খুব বেশি টার্ন করাতে পারেননা। ফলে, স্পিনে নির্বিশ স্পিনকে ভোগাতে পারে, বিপক্ষ দলের ব্যাটাররা। পাশাপাশি, বাংলাদেশ দলে হার্ট হিটাররের সংকট থাকায়, রিকোয়ার্ড রেট বাড়লে, রান কাভার করা কঠিন হতে পারে বাংলাদেশের জন্য। বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটে মাঠের বাইরের আলোচনা থামাতে পারে বিশ্বকাপে বাংলাদেশের ভাল পারফর্ম্যান্স।
