আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে ১৯৯৯ সালে স্টাটাস পাওয়া বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেট কি সুপথে আছে? দীর্ঘ ২৫ বছর এর দাঁড়প্রান্তে দাঁড়িয়ে যতটুকু এগিয়ে ক্রিকেট, তা পর্যাপ্ত কিনা সে নিয়ে অনেক কথা হতে পারে। ক্রিকেটে নানা উত্থান পতন থাকতেই পারে। তবে, বেসিক কিছু বিষয় একটা দেশের ক্রিকেটের ভবিষ্যতকেই উপস্থাপন করে।
মডার্ন ক্রিকেটে ক্রিকেটীয় সব উপকরন এখন হাতের নাগালে। বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেট বোর্ড ক্রিকেটীয় দিক দিয়ে বেশিদুর এগোতে না পারলেও, দেশের ক্রিকেট সমর্থকরা দেশের ক্রিকেটকে দিয়েছ ধনীর খেতাব। বিশ্বের সেরা ৫ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ একটি। ফলে, খেলোয়াড়দের চাহিদা মেটানোর কোন উপকরণের ঘাটতি থাকার কথা নয়।
তবে, অর্থ এবং ম্যানেজমেন্ট দুটোর সমন্বয়েই তো তৈরি হয় কাঙ্খিত সাফল্য। বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড অর্থের সাথে সঠিক ম্যানেজমেন্ট টা দেখাতে পেরেছে? লক্ষ্যে নির্দিষ্ট করেই তো ম্যানেজমেন্টের পরিকল্পনা স্থির করতে হয়। দেশের ক্রিকেট কি নিজেদের লক্ষ্যেটা নির্দিষ্ট করতে পেরেছে।
বলা হয়ে থাকে, লম্বা সময় সুযোগ পাওয়া একটি টিমই সাফল্য এনে দিতে পারে। বর্তমান ক্রিকেট বিশ্বে যেসব দল খেলছে, বাংলাদেশ দলের টিম ম্যানেজমেন্টের মত দীর্ঘস্থায়ী কি কোন ক্রিকেট বোর্ড আছে? এক যুগের বেশি সময় ধরে বোর্ডের সাথে থাকা মেম্বারদের কিইবা লক্ষ্যে ছিল? তার বাস্তবায়নই বা কতটুকু হল, তার কি কোন জবাব আছে?
নিজেদের জায়গা ধরে রাখতে বিশ্বকাপ জয়ের মত লম্বা স্বপ্ন দেখানো হয়েছে। তবে, তা বাস্তবায়নের জন্য কি পরিকল্পনা ছিল, তা স্পষ্ট নয়। দৃশ্যমান কোন উদ্যোগও কখনও চোখেও পড়েনি। ক্রিকেটীয় লক্ষ্যে পূরনের জন্য ক্রিকেটকেই তো উন্নতির দিকে ধাবিত করতে হবে। ১২ বছর আগে এবং পরে কি পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে বিসিবি, যার ফলে বিশ্বকাপ জয়ের মত স্বপ্ন দেখতে পারে বাংলাদেশ?
ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের হতশ্রী অবস্থা, বাংলাদেশের পাইপলাইনকেই দূর্বল করে দিয়েছে। বিভাগীয় ক্রিকেট তো অনেক দুরের বিষয়, স্কুল লেভেল ক্রিকেটে কাঠামোই তো নেই বাংলাদেশে। ঢাকার ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেট, বিকেএসপি ছাড়া আর কোন মাধ্যমই নেই খেলোয়াড় বাছাইয়ের। যা আছে তার উপরও তো বিসিবির নিয়ন্ত্রন নেই। ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে অংশগ্রহনকারী দলগুলো নিজেদের প্রচেষ্টাতেই খেলোয়াড় বাছাই করে থাকে।
বিসিবি এমন কোন প্লাটফর্ম দাঁড় করাতে পারেনি, যেখান থেকে ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের দলগুলো নিজেদের দল সাজিয়ে নিতে পারে। নিজেদের উদ্যোগে সব কিছু করায়, বিসিবির কাছে দলগুলোর কোন দায়বদ্ধতাও নেই। ফলে, বিসিবি থেকে পাঠানো কোন ম্যাসেজে কর্নপাতই করে নাদলগুলো। এর আগে বিসিবি থেকে প্রত্যেক দলে লেগস্পিনার খেলানো বাধ্যতামূলক করানো হলেও , তা মানানো যায়নি দলগুলোকে।
নিজেদের নিয়ন্ত্রনের বাহিরে থাকা টূর্নামেন্টের দিকে তাকিয়ে থাকে বাংলাদেশ বোর্ড। ফলও আসে, দায় সারা কাজ সামলানোর মত টিম গঠন করে। কত খেলোয়াড় আসে যায়, হয়ে উঠেনা পারফেক্ট টিম কম্নিনেশন। আর বর্তমান বেহাল দশাটা এতটা যে, ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে ভাল করা খেলোয়াড়রা জাতীয় দলে এসে করতে পারছে না কিছুই। .
সর্বশেষ বছরে দলের সাথে যুক্ত হওয়া খেলোয়াড়েরা ঝড়ে গেছে, নিজেদের ব্যর্থতায়। যা বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটের ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের মানকেই প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ করেছে। ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটে থাকা ব্যাটাররা কোয়ালিটি সম্পন্ন বোলারকে পাচ্ছে না, পাশাপাশি, কিছুটা ভাল করা বোলাররা বড় কোন ব্যাটারের পরীক্ষায় পড়ছে না। ফলে, বাংলাদেশের ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেটের জন্য যথেষ্ট হলেও, সাফল্য বয়ে নিয়ে আসতে পারছে না আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে।
মাঝে বিপিএল শুরু করে, কিছুটা স্বপ্ন জাগালেও, কোয়ালিটি টিকিয়ে রাখতে না পারায়, সেটিও কাজে দিচ্ছে না। বিপিএলের লাইভ সম্প্রচার দেখলেই বোঝা যায়, বাংলাদেশের ভবিষ্যত ক্রিকেটে যারা আসতে চলেছেন, তাদের বেহাল দশা। শুধু দেশী নয়, বিপিএলে কিছু পাকিস্তানি ক্রিকেটার ছাড়া, কোন কোয়ালিটি খেলোয়াড় আগ্রহই দেখাচ্ছে না। আর টূর্নামেন্টের মান এতটাই কম যে, হয়তো সম্প্রচারের যোগ্যতাই রাখেনা।
ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেট এবং ক্রিকেটারদের মানের এই বেহাল দশায়, কতশত বিদেশী কোচ আসছে আর যাচ্ছে, হচ্ছে না কোন লাভই। ভদ্রতার খাতিরে হয়তো বাংলাদেশের কেউই বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটের মান নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তুলে বিদায় নিচ্ছে না। বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটকে উন্নতির শিখরে না পৌঁছানোর খেসারত হয়তো দিতে হচ্ছে চাকুরী হারিয়ে। কিন্তু, বিসিবি নিজেদের কোন ব্যর্থতাই চোখে দেখছে না।
মাঝে তাও সাকিব আল হাসান, মুশফিকুর রহিম, রিয়াদদের মত কিছু খেলোয়াড় উঠে এসেছিল। কিন্তু, বর্তমানে যা অবস্থা, পারফরমার এগারো জনকে দিয়ে দল সাজানোর মত খেলোয়াড়ই তো পাচ্ছে না বাংলাদেশ। ফলে, কোচিং স্টাফদের শেষ পর্যন্ত ভরসা করতে হচ্ছে ইমপ্যাক্ট খেলোয়াড়দের উপরই। যাদের হয়তো পারফরম্যান্স নেই, কিন্তু, দলের হয়ে অবদার রাখার মত সামর্থ্য আছে।
ভারতের শ্রীধরন শ্রীরাম থেকে শুরু করে হাথুরুসিং কেও ভরসা করতে হচ্ছে ইমপ্যাক্ট খেলোয়াড়দের উপর। শ্রীরাম তো খেলোয়াড় সংকটে ২৫ বা ৩০ রান করতে সক্ষম এধরনের খেলোয়াড় খুঁজছিলেন। যিনি যাওয়ার আগে বাংলাদেশের খেলোয়াড়দের অল্পতেই সন্তুষ্টির কথাও জানিয়ে দিয়ে গিয়েছেন। আর হাথুরু উপায় খুঁজে না পেয়ে সৌম্য সরকারকে দলের সাথে সংযুক্ত করতে বাধ্য হচ্ছেন, যিনি কিনা ঘরোয়া লীগেও পারফর্ম না করতে পারাতে দলে নিয়মিত হতে পারছেন না।
ক্রিকেটের এই বেহাল দশার প্রকৃত কারণ বিসিবি হয়তো খুঁজেই পাচ্ছে না। খুঁজে পেলে যে দোষের আঙ্গুলটা নিজেদের দিকেই উঠতে পারে। তবে সেই উপলব্ধি থেকেও তো অন্তত যে কাজটুকু আগে করা উচিত ছিল, তা অন্তপক্ষ এখন শুরু করবে, তারও উদ্যোগ নেই। শুধু আছে বড় মঞ্চে জয়ের নিছক আশ্বাস।
মাঠের ক্রিকেটের নিয়ন্ত্রনের পাশাপাশি বিসিবির নিয়ন্ত্রন নেই মাঠের বাহিরের বিষয়গুলিতেও। ক্রিকেটারদের নিজেদের মধ্যে দ্বন্দ্ব, কোচদের সাথে বোঝাপড়ার ঝামেলা, ব্যক্তিগত দ্বন্দ্ব থেকে দলে না রাখা সহ নানা ইস্যুকেও সামাল দিতে পারেনি বিসিবি। ফলে, দলের মধ্যে শৃঙ্খলা ঘাটতি সহ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে মনোমালিন্য। বিসিবির সাথে চুক্তিবদ্ধ হওয়ার পরও মাঠের ক্রিকেটে থাকতে চাওয়া নির্ভর করছে ব্যক্তিগত চাওয়া না চাওয়ার উপর।
তবে যাই হোক, এখন পর্যন্ত কোন উজ্জ্বল ভবিষ্যত দেখা না গেলেও, আশা ছাড়েনি পূরো বাংলাদেশ। অনেকে এখনো মনে করে, পরিবর্তন হবে বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটের, বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেট ফিরবে, নতুন বার্তা নিয়ে। যে বার্তায় শুধু আশ্বাস থাকবে না, থাকবে করে দেখানোর মত উপকরনও।
